A partnership involving the History Center's Library & Archives and the University of Pittsburgh Digital Library. The Web site provides a comprehensive collection of local resources that support personal and scholarly research of the Western Pennsylvania.
Life in Western PA
Explore more than 800 photographs, each accompained by descriptive text that provides insight into the diverse history of our region.
The Web site also features 12 films shot by Bill Beal, a Pittsburgh filmmaker active from the 1940s through the 1990s. The films offer a unique glimpse into Pittsburgh's history as the city transformed itself through a variety of construction and redevelopment projects.
